Frequently Asked Questions

If none of the FAQs help with your question, then feel free to contact us.

Can I keep training while im injured?

Often yes - with smart load management (not applicable to all injuries though- sorry). We'll tweak volume, intensity and range so you can stay active while slowly healing, then layer strength and power back in alongside activity modification.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly. If we spot a red flag, we'll advise you to see your GP or A&E.

Is online physiotherapy effective?

For many issues, yes. Covid-19 helped with the development with telehealth and we found for a lot of musculoskeletal injuries, they can be treated virtually through education, advise and a tailored rehabilitation programme, where exercises are ran through on a virtual call. If hands on therapy is needed, we'll say so and recommend clinicians.

How soon will I feel better?

Many feel improvements within 3-6 sessions. Timelines vary depending on the level of injury, sport and training load - we'll outline your milestones on day one.

Who do you work with?

Emily works with a wide range of clients who want to recover faster, prevent injuries, and perform at their best. Her physiotherapy services support equestrians, athletes, stunt performers, dancers, actors, runners, rugby players, boxers, tennis players, and everyday individuals managing pain or recovering from injury.

With experience in both the NHS and private practice, as well as a background as a world-class stunt rider and performer, Emily brings unique insight into the physical demands of sport, performance, and daily life. Whether you’re aiming to return to competition, get back in the saddle after injury, or simply move without pain, Emily provides tailored physiotherapy that helps you recover, strengthen, and thrive.

Do you offer horse physiotherapy?

No — Emily does not provide physiotherapy, diagnosis, or treatment for horses. Her expertise is in human physiotherapy, supporting riders, athletes, and performers with injury recovery, pain management, and performance enhancement.

That said, with her background as a world-class trick rider and equestrian performer, Emily also offers guidance in horsemanship and horse fitness training. She understands how to keep both horse and rider fit, balanced, and working together as a team — but when it comes to physiotherapy, her focus is on the rider.

Is Physiotherapy time consuming?

Not at all. Physiotherapy is designed to fit around your lifestyle. Most sessions last around 30–45 minutes, and you’ll leave with tailored exercises that can be done at home or alongside your normal routine. Consistency is key — a few focused minutes each day is often more effective than long, time-consuming workouts.

Emily’s approach is all about practical, achievable rehab plans that get results without taking over your life. Whether you’re a busy professional, athlete, or rider, physiotherapy can be seamlessly integrated into your schedule so you can recover, strengthen, and perform at your best.

How Long are Appointments?

Your first 60-minute assessment gives us time to understand your goals, complete a detailed physical evaluation, and create a tailored treatment plan to restore movement, support your training, and optimise performance, with follow-ups of 30–60 minutes scheduled to suit your lifestyle.
